The world is a great realm of wonders that’s waiting to be explored. Each continent and each country has a unique culture, terrain and wild life that will surely give you a memorable adventure. No amount of reading and viewing of travel documentaries can ever come close to the real thing. You really have to go out there, explore the amazing destinations, and experience the adventure for yourself.

This is why traveling is topmost in my list of favorite activities. Nothing compares to those rare moments of indulging in the breathtaking sceneries of a foreign land, having first-hand experiences of the country’s rich heritage, exploring its natural resources, and mingling with its beautiful people. Those are priceless moments that will remain engraved in my memory for as long as I live. And I have countless photos and videos of my explorations that I love to share with my family and friends over and over again.

You should visit Asia. Paraphrasing Winston Churchill, most Americans and Europeans consider Asia an enigma wrapped in a mystery enveloped in a fortune cookie. All the more reason to visit the most exotic Asian destinations, learning the history and culture first-hand, specially because the world’s political and economic centres of gravity have shifted to Asia, a fact-finding tour is required is a global citizen’s general education. Naturally, you want to travel as inexpensively as you can, but the experts caution you to observe the critical distinction between “frugal” and flat-out “cheap.”

In the case of Asian travel, “cheap” can be synonymous with “scary,” conjuring visions of tourists run terribly amok, lost and abandoned in cities with millions of people, all of whom are very good natured and friendly but none of whom speak your native language. When you query “inexpensive Asian travel” on your favorite search engine, you get more than six million results. You have to use your critical eye, replying on the sources you know and trust as credible. Of course, you should go with what you know. If you have a pretty good sense of direction, use Kayak.com to book all your airline and hotel reservations, because, just as the site’s advertisements claim, they do all the searching, and you get all the benefits. For the best and most reliable guidance about guided tours, discriminating tourists gravitate to Frommers.com, and for realistic, down-to-earth user-generated suggestions, commentary, evaluations, and reviews, Tripadvisor.com definitely leads the list. Several best-selling travel authors recently have endorsed Virtualtoruist.com, and the more intrepid travellers blessed with great appetites for adventure wholeheartedly recommend lonelyplanet.com. All of the sites have exhaustive information about Asian tours.

As you consider your trip, note that most tour organizers divide Asia into two regions—Southeast Asia, which includes Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand, and Pacific Asia, which includes Japan, China, and South Korea. Haunted by memories of history’s most unpopular war, Americans have been slow to discover the wonders of Southeast Asia, which is emerging as one of the world’s favourite destinations. Europeans, Australians, and other Asians especially visit Vietnam and Thailand for their tropical climates, breathtaking pristine beaches, rich cultural heritages, and delicious food. Throughout Southeast Asia, tourists travel easily and safely—often far safer than in New York and L.A. Best of all, Southeast Asia is always on sale. Southeast Asian air fares and luxury accommodations consistently cost 30% to 50% less than comparable arrangements in the Asian Pacific, and favourable exchange rates make tourists’ dollars and Euros stretch much further.

In the northern Vietnam, Halong Bay is the most spectacular sea kayaking destination. The bay’s name means “descending dragon”, and the mythical beasts are said to have created the rocky islets that form a maze of protected waterways. A cruise to Asia may just be the thing for you if you wish to explore exotic lands. There are many different cruise lines that offer trips to Asia, and all of them feature various itineraries to choose from.

Victoria Peak is in essence a mountain that features magnificent restaurants, wonderful shopping, and the most gorgeous views in all of Hong Kong. Laos is a must trip if you should be on vacation in this exotic part of Asia. If you are looking for an adventure too, then these vacation tips will point you in the right direction.

Many visitors to South East Asia miss Laos out in favor of the more popular destinations of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

It may be true that traveling to Laos is nothing less than an endurance test – but a beautiful, unspoiled wildlife and a sprinkling of exquisite temples should make the trip worth it. With its exciting terrain, well preserved natural ecosystems and numerous waterways, Laos is now emerging as a premier outdoor adventure destination in this part of Asia.

One of the best things about Laos, apart from its rugged beauty and natural attractions, is the low cost of accommodation, food and transportation. Your dollars will take you a long way back and forth. It may not have such world-class cuisine as its neighboring countries, but it is not impossible to find culinary delights in many of its cities.

Notably the French cuisine is the most popular among restaurants catering for tourists and lots of delicious Thai and Vietnamese dishes as well. Laotian cuisine should not be missed, as neighboring Thailand is also generous in its portion of curry and fresh ingredients that will leave you wanting more … that is, if it\’s your type of food.

Must be careful with how much money you take with you. ATMs are not readily available outside of Laos\’ biggest cities. Credit will not help you either since it is only accepted by a small number of companies. If you have some Thai baht back from a Thailand visit, spend it in Laos because it is very welcome.

You are most likely to land in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Do not hurry to the next more exotic city because Vientiane is a gem waiting to be discovered. It is a quaint and charming city that has exquisite temples and stupas. Note the remarkable influence of the French in this city\’s architecture and cuisine. Take a leisurely stroll along the well laid out streets in Vientiane.

From Vientiane, continue to Luang Prabang along the banks of the Mekong River. It is a picturesque and colorful city with the many orange-robed monks and countless temples that adorn the city.

Do not miss an exciting river cruise that takes you to an adventurous trip that will showcase the picturesque montage of local life along the riverbank.

Do not miss the Nam Ha protected area located in northern Laos. For a more exciting way to travel to the Nam Ha, take a short detour to the town of Luang Namtha and take a boat trip to the Nam Ha. This will allow you to catch a glimpse of many birds, and reptiles along the banks of the river and surrounded by a thick jungle of blooming flora and fauna.

Nam Ha Protected Site offers numerous opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts eager for some adventure. Trekking is best in this area with its exciting terrain, abundant wildlife and breathtaking panoramas. Along the way, watch out for small waterfalls where you can rest your feet and cool off in the crystal clear waters. Notice where you are going and follow your guide\’s instructions on safe and unsafe areas to the letter. UXOs or small bombs are still present in some areas, so be sure not to remove them.

Other exciting destinations in Laos include Vieng Xai with its many large caves, Hongsa with their beautifully preserved architecture and Wat Phu Champasak, with its 7 century Khmer temple complex.
