I bought this for small outdoor trips, thinking that it would be nice and compact, as well as lightweight. It is both, however, the small boiling pot is too small to hold enough water worth heating. It also tips over if you don’t have anything to set it down on while heating. I thought I could suspend it over the fire with a tripod but after filling, it tips sideways and dumps all it’s contents. The frying pan is suitable but the handle is a bit flimsy, though functional. After the first use, the “non stick” coating rubbed off in some places, even though I didn’t scrub it. A knife or fork will scratch it off too.

Compact and usable, very light weight, but the pot isn’t balanced well if you are thinking of hanging it from a makeshift tripod (not deep enough) and it all rattles.

I got the product for the non-stick coating (which has held up so far) for its ease of cleaning and non-reflectiveness, the multitude of items it came with, and the nesting capabilities…which I assumed would have some wiggle room inside it, but not much.

I was waaaaaaay off. Unless you plan on packing your socks in it while you’re hiking, you’re going to be heard a mile away. I could still hear it rattle in the center of my pack, under two changes of clothes.

Even if moving quietly isn’t a priority for you, it gets annoying real quick.

Also, the cup is plastic…which I haven’t melted yet, but then again, I’m more careful with fire than most.

If you can deal with the noise and you’re boiling something in the pot other than thin liquid, for .00 it’s a decent buy. Easy to clean, easy to use.

It’s not something I’m going to throw away, but I’ll be keeping my eye out for something a little better.

If it wasn’t for the rattle, I’d give it four stars. I should probably have rated it three stars, but I can still hear it rattling in my nightmares.

This mess kit is well constructed and does the job just fine. The one handle clips easily to the pots and grips well. The pieces come in a mesh bag that is easy to carry. The kit would rate higher if the outter parts clipped together to prevent them from banging around.

This mess kit is excellent, though I feel that the metal is a bit thin. It’s lightweight, has three pot/pans that all fit together and enough space that you could buy a fork and knife and stick it in the biggest pot/pan and then put them back together. Efficient in size and design, lightweight, and inexpensive. It’s a winner.
