Coleman Trekking Pole Reviews

This pole was great for the 2 days that it worked. The compass in the handle is cool (but sometimes requires shaking) and the overall design is comfortable. The removable head was helpful when hiking through ice and the stabilizer worked well in mud.

I was loving every minute I had this thing until the metal gizmo that allows it to extend snapped inside. I would be willing to forgive this product, but once it fell apart and I looked inside, the design just looked flimsy. While this may have been a biased opinion (since I made it while trying to bushwhack up a mountain with a broken pole), it was certainly justified at the time.

My advice: Shell out the bucks for a better one.

For those people that requires just a low end trekking pole, that does the job of stablising and support.

Its dimensions are 25.5″ when collasped and 52.5″ when fully extended.

Its grip is made of rubber, and has this tiny compass embedded within (would require some patience in getting the correct direction, as it might get stuck when you make a sudden turn…), works well for a general sense of direction while trekking.

There’s shock absorption built in.

Overall, a good deal for those that wants to ‘try out’ trekking poles before upgrading (if ever) to the better ones.

Texsport Trekking Pole Satisfied! Finger shaping made hand grip slightly uncomfortable, Strap OK after figuring out how change loop size. Amazon sent the correct poles. All is well.

PROS: Excellent quality; easy to adjust; very durable; comfortable; collapse very small for storage.

CONS: Not cheap, but should last a long time or my first pair lasted over 10 years before I lost them.

Amazon is advertising & showing the LEKI Super Makalu COR-TEC Antishock Trekking Poles (TO2048-08) but is shipping a much cheaper non-shock LEKI Themolite (TO2136-08). So I returned & hoping Amazon ships the proper poles. I have been ordering from Amazon for years and never received completely wrong items but hopefully the big “A” will make it right. IF I had gotten the correct poles, I can tell you that these are excellent as I have used them for over 10+ years. I unfortunately “lost” them a couple of weeks ago & was using Amazon for the replacements. After 10 full years of both serious back-country full pack hiking & leisurely local park hikes, they still functioned perfectly. I cannot even imagine hiking without these poles on rough terrain as it makes the experience much more enjoyable. Once you use these, you will feel “naked” without them. My kids also love them as these can be shortened to “kid size” and still work great. I would not bother buying the “kids size” poles; just buy the adult size LEKI for the youngsters so they can grow into them later. With the easy telescoping adjustments, it is not a problem. Keeping fingers crossed Amazon comes thru with the right poles.
