What a great training tape! Downwind, density altitude, a tailrotor stall position, possibly out of cg limits, and the chopper’s rocking like a ring stall. What else can you do to it?

when i see this ceash i see it rolling blades flying and a burning craft and all lives lost

Yeh I noticed that too, they are all pretty lucky they didnt get someones head chopped off…Dummies! I always brief the passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency landing(not a crash) to wait for the rotors to come to a full stop or my specific instructions.

  7. fit369 says:

The stupidest thing they did was tell everyone to get out while the rotors are still spinning fast enough to cut a guy in half. And the angle of the rotors due to the missing nose gear meant taht they were even lower.

  8. helobelow says:

Absolutely! too heavy, too fast combined with very high density altitude. Blades coning up and settling with power kills many heli pilots.

  9. dferdows says:

SAFETY NOTICE – Always reduce rate-of-descent before reducing airspeed … Seemed like he got into a vortex ring state (settling with power)
